She's your Venus, all right! If you find yourself getting a bit mischievous when it comes to love, mighty, mighty Aphrodite (whom the Romans called Venus) may have found a home inside your romantic heart. She is the Classical Greek goddess of love and beauty.
According to myth, Aphrodite was once judged the most beautiful goddess on Mount Olympus. While the title fed her vanity, it did not calm her insecurities--she could be very envious and competitive with other women. When others prevented her from satisfying her voracious appetite for love, she pulled all kinds of tricks, making people fall in love with inappropriate people or objects.
Like Aphrodite, you may find yourself engaging in a fair amount of romantic game playing, which can be fun and sometimes painful. Though you probably can't make people fall in love with trees the way the ancient goddess could, you may share her sense of mischief when you are romantically frustrated. If you sometimes feel wounded pride, insecurity and jealous competition with other women, this may be your inner Aphrodite coming out. Thankfully, you can probably count on the goddess to assert her whimsical side by putting you in a playful mood for no particular reason.
